Dr. John E. Hokanson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics. He joined the faculty in 1999.

Dr. Hokanson received his bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He completed a MPH (Epidemiology) from the Univerisity of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Hokanson was awarded a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington in 1998. Dr. Hokanson also completed post-doctoral training in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Nutrition at the University of Washington.

In addition to his primary appointment in Preventive Medicine and Biomterics, Dr. Hokanson has an appointment in the Graduate School and is an Affiliate Researcher at the Center for Human Nutrition.
