TEACHING INTERESTS
The science of biostatistics and epidemiology are by their very nature important to a wide variety of disciplines. Whether I am teaching graduate students in biostatistics, graduate students in epidemiology, post-doctoral fellows, or collaborators, my overall goals are the same: teach the material in the context in which it will be used; provide the student with the skills required for his or her future research; provide the ability to continue to learn on one's own; convey a detailed enough overview of the issues relevant in other contexts so that students will be aware of the limitations of their knowledge and know when to consult with, and how to communicate with, individuals with complementary expertise.
