Dr. Marshall is a tenured Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics. She received her PhD from the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of Washington.

Dr. Marshall has developed student-centered and problem-based teaching techniques in epidemiology and is currently involved in several courses for the Section of Epidemiology and Community Health, as a Course Director or Faculty.

Dr. Marshall's research areas include obesity, non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, nutrition and physical activity, gene-environment interactions and community-based prevention research.
