Dr. MaWhinney was awarded her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT (1987). Sam is a graduate of Harvard University, Boston, MA, receiving her M.S. in Biostatistics (1989), and her Sc.D., also in Biostatistics, from Harvard (1991)

Dr. MaWhinney was a Research Fellow at IINSERM in Paris, France (1991-92), and returned to Harvard University for her Post-Doctoral studies (1992-94).

Dr. Samantha MaWhinney is very active in HIV/AIDS research and has and authored and co-authored many publications relating to HIV/AIDS research.
