Dr. Shapiro has been a Professor
with the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics since 1994.
He is a graduate of Duke University, Durham, North Carolina (1974) with
a B.A. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Biology.
Dr. Howard Shapiro attended
Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland and earned his Sc.M. in
Biostatistics (1981). Dr. Shapiro completed his Doctoral studies in
Biometrics here at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center
(1991).
In 1990 Dr. Shapiro was awarded
a Visiting Consultant Fellowship, at the Ministry of Health, Government
of Singapore and also in 1990 he was given the award for Outstanding
Ph.D. Student, Department of Biometrics, University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center.
